Dan's Late T5 Highline Camper Conversion

Dan's stunning late VW T5 Highline started life as a panel van and thanks to some graft and SJ Campers magic, it's now a full camper, with custom upholstery!

As always, the first job was to prepare the van for conversion - removing interior lining and paneling and adding in insulation, new panels, 4-way stretch wall and ceiling carpet and a new hard-wearing Altro floor.

This new Vdub conversion features some beautiful customised upholstery, both for the cab seats in the front and for the Smart Beds rock and roll bed in the back. Dan opted for a black and blue combo to match the stunning blue paint of the van's bodywork.

But it doesn't stop there! On the sides of the van we installed a full set of tinted, sliding and non-sliding windows to give it that real camper van look, and up top a rear hinged SCA roof conversion, to make standing up in the van all that much easier - a true camper!

To complete the interior Dan opted for a Smart Beds Evolution 2 rock and roll bed as well as kitchen storage units, wardrobe unit and the much needed sink and hob. A Waeco fridge completed the kitchen duties - so now a brew is never far away.

Converting a panel van into a fully fledged camper is a great money saving way to build your dream home-from-home, and a conversion will always add value to an otherwise standard van. What's more, well looked after camper vans hold their value very, very well - especially VW vans - so even if you decide it's not getting the use it deserves in the future, it will still more often than not make you money! What's not to like?
